What to do with fake or false reviews

Negative reviews are going to happen. It's part of doing business, and you can't please everyone. But occasionally, you may get a review from a vindictive x-employee, a shady competitor, or a simple internet troll. So, what do you do with a fake recommendation left with the sole purpose of defaming your business with outright lies?

Recently, we had a client who ran into the mother of all trolling situations. A customer of our client had an estranged family member who decided to take out their anger on our client for the crime of doing business with said customer. They proceeded to post lies about our client on conspiracy websites and social media pages. The internet trolls then came out in-force against our client from all over the globe. These internet trolls had never done business with our client, were leaving fake harmful recommendations on their Facebook page, and dragging their reputation through the mud. The following infographic outlines our response to the situation. By following this model, we have had most of the negative reviews removed. We are confident that the remainder will be removed as well and in the full restoration of our client's reputation.

It's essential to have a game plan in place for these types of situations. Use this infographic to help you plan for whatever the internet throws at your business.
